Africa and Abandoned Theme Parks
Africa
1. Based on what I saw and read I think that the photos are very interesting and unique. I like how they are all black and white because it gives the photos a more meaningful feel to them. All the different animals in the different settings they live in showcase the nature of Africa.
2.
3. This photo caught my eye because it is very simple and it is very balanced. I like this photo a lot because the line of the people guides your eyes across the picture very easily. There is also no distractions in the background which makes for a good picture.
4. There are a lot of rules in this photo for example the places the people stand creates lines to guide you across the photo, the photo is very simple and has no mergers, and the photo is also balanced because everyone in the photo is doing the same thing, and last is rule of thirds because the main person in the picture in on one of the lines.
5. Nick uses a Pentax 6711, which only has two fixed lenses because he wants to be able to take pictures close up to the animals to capture their personality. He believes that taking pictures from further away doesn't accurately represent the animals.
6. Brandt takes these photos because he is interested in showing these animals in their state of being. He believes there is something iconic out the animals in south Africa.
7. By taking these photos Brandt hopes to showcase these animals in their natural being and the different setting their in. He wants to show everyone how unique and beautiful these animals of africa are.
8. "There is also something deeply, emotionally stirring and affecting about the plains of Africa—those vast, green rolling plains punctuated by graphically perfect acacia trees under the huge skies."
Abandoned Theme Parks
1. The abandoned park I would like to visit and take pictures at is the Six Flags New Orleans Louisiana. By far this one looks the most creepy and scary and I think I could get a lot of interesting pictures there.
2.
3. -Towns that have been destroyed
- abandoned schools
- abandoned hospitals
- shipwrecks
- graveyards
4.
5. I think it would be fun to document abandoned schools because like the abandoned them parks it would be very creepy and eerie but at the same time school is a place that we are all the time so it would be cool to see an abandoned one and relate to it. The types of photos i would get would be very gloomy and creepy because an abandoned school gives of weird vibes and it makes you feel kind of uncomfortable.
6. To be able to shoot at a location like this i would have to research the different abandoned schools close to me and i might have to travel a little bit. As far as equipment i would need to bring a camera and maybe some different lenses and a tripod. Some abandoned school on in a high security place so i would have to find somewhere that it would be legal to shoot at.
